Report compiled from separate reports from John Guyler August-October 2025
FCC teams cleared topsoil from the road bridge approaches using the digger and dumper: the soil being spread on the banking sections at the outfall gully, after profiling the bank grass seed was spread on the area.
FCC’s dumper finally broke down with a gearbox issue, and had to be pushed by our digger, to the storage area, where it had the gearbox taken out and stripped in the ECP&DA workshop. Replacement bearings for the dumper gearbox were obtained and installed and the gearbox re-installed into the dumper.
Volunteers worked on the Hall Road embankment to start clearing three strips two metres wide down the bank for the survey, for the proposed winding hole. These strips are now complete and ready for the surveyors.
A controlled burn of removed scrub was started: the team informed Derbyshire fire control at the start and finish of the burn, this is to minimise the possibility of an unnecessary appliance turnout.
